Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone! We had a wonderful visit down in Texas over Christmas break. Both boys loved seeing all their cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents down in the warm weather. We got to the park as much as possible and fed the ducks enough to last them until spring!
The new year in Iowa has come with a bit of a roar. We have had lots of snow and more than a few days that didn't get above zero. School has had delays, early outs, and cancellations each week, and thankfully Johnathan's kindergarten doesn't participate in make-up snowdays. Otherwise, he would still be in school in mid-June!
I'm including some pics of Christmas and some show pics from this past weekend. It was warm enough to get out and play in the beautiful snow for a little while, anyway! What a waste to see it so high and fluffy out there today, and the temp is only in the single digits. No thanks!

Farewell, Fair Weather!

Today was our last day of decent weather until...well...about May! Not really, it just feels that way. We've had 70's here, but tomorrow is rainy with 50's, and highs in the 40's from there on. Bummer.

I'm posting a couple of pics for the heck of it. I made this quilt for my Mom's pastor and his wife. They just had their first baby 2 weeks ago. I can't get enough of those cowgirls! I've used them in 2 quilts so far. Then there's Mark, the boys, and Chip (our pony). Chip was a new addition this spring, and everyone loves him to pieces. He's quite a ham. Enjoy!

Halloween

We had a fun Halloween with family and friends. We visited Grandma and Grandpa before hitting a large neighborhood in town for some major Trick-or-treating. Michael refused to be left behind and hit every house the other kids did! We had a nice time with some friends and their kiddos, and the weather was perfect! Michael was a lion, and Johnathan was Spot the Leopard from the book "Put Me In the Zoo". Fun!
